The Rehabilitation Aide will be responsible for assisting therapist/assistant teams in caring for their patients. The aide will prepare treatment areas; assist with toileting patients, clean equipment, order supplies for the department and perform various duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist therapist and assistant with treatment programs. Provides assistance to patients for toileting and ADL care as needed. Provides assistance with Speech Therapy and Dining Program as scheduled. Maintains department equipment including but not limited to hydrocollator, cold pac freezer, washer and dryer as well as wheelchairs, canes, commodes, shower benches. Prepares and cleans treatment areas and treatment interventions. Maintains/stocks linens and supplies. Assists the therapist in patient transport to and from the gym/speech therapy office. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit for up to thirty minutes at a time. Be able to tolerate standing for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively and be able to walk on level surfaces, stairs, carpeted surfaces, ramps for up to thirty minutes consecutively. Must have the ability to lift/move patients up to 200 lbs., push/pull patients weighting up to 200 lbs. Must have the ability to occasionally stoop/bend, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level. Must be capable of tactile sensation as it relates to feeling for muscle spasms, textures and skin temperature. Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation and ability to hear call bells. Must be capable of seeing as it relates to general vision, depth perception and peripheral vision. EDUCATION: High School Diploma. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Preferred experience in the medical field. SCHEDULE: Part- time, first shift, 7am-3:30pm. 1 weekend (Sat & Sun) every 4 weeks. Holiday rotation. Primarily Bethlehem Campus. Occasionally float to Sacred Heart Campus. Please complete your application using your full legal name and current home address.
