As we continue to expand, we are looking for a talented and motivated Tier 2 Field/Remote Engineer to join our Gauteng Team. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Tier 2 Field/Remote Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support and service delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to our clients, both remotely and on-site. This role requires a strong problem solver with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Key Responsibilities: • Provide Tier 2 technical support for a variety of IT issues, including desktops, servers, networks, and software applications. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems both remotely and on-site. • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and backups for client systems. • Assist in the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software solutions. • Collaborate with Tier 1 support staff to escalate and resolve advanced issues. • Document all support activities and client interactions in our ticketing system. • Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to end-users on IT best practices. • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed. Qualifications: • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support, preferably within an MSP environment. • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems. • Experience with network troubleshooting, including routers, wireless APs, switches, and firewalls. • Proficiency in managing Office 365 and other cloud-based services. • Hands-on experience with backup and replication solutions, such as Veeam. • Familiarity with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools, preferably N-able, Ninja RMM, etc. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A, Network, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus. • Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation for on-site visits.
