The project scope entails protection of the existing road in Cofimvaba and implementing slope protection measures on two cuttings. This includes removal of several large protruding boulders off the cut face by chemical splitting and barring down of loose rock particles. On the larger cutting, the installation of pinned / draped mesh systems (grouted rock dowels, anchor cables and tensioned and untensioned steel mesh), spot rock bolts and the drilling of drainage holes will be required. The approximate project duration is 10 months including 3 months for the Mobilisation Period. • Manage site supervision staff (ARE, SMT etc) • Liaison with the Contracts Engineer on all contractual matters before implementation. • Monitoring and reporting of the Contractor's programme. • Implement Engineer's quality control plan. • Monitor Contractor's quality control plan. • Approve all materials and ensure compliance of materials mix designs to the specifications. • Monitor and report on conformance to all relevant Environmental legislation and requirements. • Checking and controlling of quantities measured and agreed by the Contractor and the site supervisory staff and settling any disputes that may arise in this regard. • Measurement and certification of completed work inclusive of cash flow forecasts. • Review and analyse claims and/or disputes or differences that may arise between the Employer and Contractor. Present to the Contract Engineer an assessment of a claim and/or disputes. • Issuing works authorisations, as agreed with and approved by the Contract Engineer and Employer. • Site audits, inspection, quality control testing, approval, rejection of work. • Management of ITIS software which includes the following modules: Contract module: contract management Project information module: uploading of data including personnel and employment data Provide a final cost estimate for the work contract on a monthly basis, including estimated costs of claims. • Arranging and attending monthly technical and site meetings and keeping minutes of such meetings. • Conduct meetings with affected communities and relevant forums, if necessary, to establish communication channels and to determine issues impacting on the construction phase. • Monitoring of the third-party claims. • Monitoring and reporting of Contractor's CPG commitments through ITIS. • Supervision of traffic accommodation arrangements where applicable. • Statutory control functions, which may include investigations into the legality of services and accesses without formal wayleave agreements and assist with the application for approval where required. • Attend Project Liaison Committee (PLC) and Project Management Team (PMT) and all other meetings relating to the Targeted Enterprises and Targeted Labour. • Monitoring and reporting of the project's EMP and NEMA requirements. • Implement the Engineers requirements in terms of compliance with the OH&S Act. • Monitor the Contractor's compliance with the OH&S Act. • Compile all reports and as-built data in accordance with the Employer's standard requirements. • Management of service providers as they pertain to the works.
