The key purpose of the Returnable Packaging Category Manager (RetPack) is to be responsible for supporting the development of the category strategies for returnable glass bottles, plastic crates, wooden & plastic pallets, and Design to Profitability (DTP) in zone Africa. They will also be accountable for regional and country sourcing and optimization initiatives - including but not limited to CAPEX cost management, VIC cost management, and WAPT improvement projects. The role will collaborate closely with the Logistics RetPack team to ensure material availability, manage the CAPEX budget, and work closely with country procurement managers to implement. The role will also be responsible for the yearly Design to Profitability (DTP) analysis and framework which the other Category Managers will use to delivery year-over-year cost reduction in VIC. The key stakeholders for DTP will include Global Procurement, Zone Commercial Team, and ZITEC team. The Ret Pack Category Manager will be required to occasionally travel to internationally (within Africa), as a key requirement of the role entails stakeholder engagements and understanding the operations within each of the African countries. Key Roles and Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing for Pallets and Crates (RPO Category) Implementation & Management for Returnable Glass Bottles (GPO Category) Execute strategic sourcing initiatives with multifunctional teams (BUs, CPMs, RPO, RPSS & GPO) to deliver WAPT Improvements & CAPEX Savings Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and internal and external collaborations Drive sustainability into strategic sourcing activities and decisions, aligned with AB InBev's Recycled Content & Co2 Objectives Lead the yearly Design to Profitability (DTP) exercise for zone Africa, which would apply to all COGS (RAU & PACK) Ensure contract compliance and vendor list maintenance for Returnable Bottles, Pallets, and Crates Track year-over-year pricing for every Ret Pack material in each African country, and report monthly on the price per SKU to Logistics & Procurement Profile: University Degree or equivalent (Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering); Knowledge of one, or all, of the following areas is preferred… Sourcing; Logistics; Packaging or Returnable Packaging. Experience with project management and must have the communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
