Risk Analyst - - Johannesburg

Job Description:
The Risk Department is responsible for managing front-line trading and ensuring that senior management understands the risk-reward ratio of the trading books.

Responsibilities:

Calculate and run the desk's P&L and risk reports daily.
Provide assistance with developing and improving reports, systems, and processes.
Effectively communicate results to traders and managers.
Identify and communicate issues that may cause surprises in advance, and ensuring that reports and measurements reflect them.
Engage in regular discussions with Risk Managers.
Present issues clearly and logically to relevant teams.
Occasionally perform ad hoc tasks as requested.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (i.e. Risk Management, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
Honours Degree advantageous

Job Experience & Skills Required:

2 to 3 years of work experience in the same or similar field preferred.
Proficient in Excel.
VBA and Python coding skills are advantageous.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to diverse audiences on all levels within teams.
The ability to multitask and manage priorities well is imperative.
Excellent attention to the details and accuracy of the data, to ensure that the analysis results in tangible company benefits, frequently within a tight deadline.
