We have a list of clients who are eagerly seeking a well-rounded and experienced Risk and Compliance Officer to join their teams in Johannesburg, Gauteng. This role is ideal for a candidate with experience overseeing multiple departments within an organisation, namely Insurance, financial, legal and the credit divisions. You will be expected to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. You will collaborate closely with various departments to assess risks, implement controls, and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies accordingly.
- Train employees on compliance and risk management issues.
- Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in audits and reviews to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Law, Finance, or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
- Proven experience as a Risk and Compliance Officer or similar role in the financial services or insurance industry
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to the Corporate legislation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g. RE5, CRMA, CIA) would be an advantage
