Our client is a leading mining company and part of a major group. Based up in the Northern Cape, Kathu area, they are one of the top employers in the province and in South Africa. To qualify for this role you will need: Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Rock Engineering / Geology / Mining (Essential) Chamber of Mines Certificate in Rock Mechanics (Metalliferous) (Essential) Experience Minimum of seven (7) years operational Mining Geology experience as a Geotechnician in an opencast mine environment (Essential) Minimum three (3) years middle management experience (Essential) Experience in dolomite and sink hole management (Ideally a total of 8 years' experience) The role will carry a Legal appointment 14.1 (8) The focus of the role will be to provide specialised integrated geotechnical expertise to the mine, manage geotechnical investigations and ensure structural stability of residue deposits, waste dumps and stockpiles, which includes but not limited to: Business intelligence and trend analysis Functional process optimisation Promote and enforce compliance Plan, implement, control and monitor approved changes SHERQ adherence and related compliance Only South African citizens can be considered.
