RPO Recruitment's client is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Rock Engineer Superintendent to join their team. As a Rock Engineer Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and stability of rock formations in the mining industry. Your expertise and knowledge in rock mechanics will be critical in ensuring the optimal design and implementation of support systems. As the Rock Engineer Superintendent, you will work closely with the mining team, providing guidance and support to ensure safe and efficient mining operations. You will conduct regular inspections and assessments of rock conditions, analyzing data and providing recommendations for rock support designs. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and mentoring junior rock engineers, ensuring their development and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities: Conduct regular inspections and assessments of rock conditions Analyze data and develop rock support designs Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards Mentor and provide guidance to junior rock engineers Collaborate with mining team to optimize rock support systems Prepare reports and documentation Requirements Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Geology/Mining Engineering Rock Mechanics Certificate – Open pit with slope stability Registered member of SANIRE 6 years’ relevant experience in an opencast mining environment At least 2 years' managerial experience Professional registration as a Rock Engineer Extensive knowledge of rock mechanics and ground control principles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Benefits Salary: Negotiable Paid Time Off (PTO) Family Leave RPO is a Specialist Recruitment Agency that provides candidates and clients with unique recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
