Rope Access Level 2 Technician (Offshore) - Cape Town City Centre
Position Summary: Vertical Logic is currently recruiting experienced individuals for the position of Rope Access Level 2 Technician. This role requires advanced rope access skills and the ability to work independently on a variety of technical tasks in offshore environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to safety. Preference will be given to candidates who possess offshore certifications and medical clearances.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform rope access tasks independently and supervise Level 1 technicians in offshore settings
- Rigging and equipment setup for offshore rope access operations
- Conduct pre-use checks and maintenance of rope access equipment in offshore environments
- Interpret and implement rope access procedures, method statements, and risk assessments offshore
- Lead rescue operations and provide guidance to team members in offshore projects
- Operate machinery and equipment proficiently offshore
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices in offshore operations
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients in offshore settings
- Mentor junior technicians and provide training as needed in offshore projects
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Experience or familiarity with any of the following:
- Painting
- Blasting
- Load testing
- Welding (various types)
- Non-destructive testing (NDT)
- Rigging principles and techniques
Offshore certifications and clearances including:
- UKOG Medical Clearance
- OPITO Offshore Survival Certification
- Seaman's Book
- Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
- COVID-19 Certification
- TB Test Clearance
- Confined Space
- Standby rescue
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Rope Access Level 2 Technician in offshore environments
- Advanced rope access skills and techniques
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment in offshore projects
- Commitment to safety and quality standards in offshore operations
