Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Representative - Durban

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing Safety and Health Programs: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and health programs to address workplace hazards, prevent accidents, and promote employee well-being.
  2. Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards, ensuring that the company meets or exceeds compliance requirements.
  3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and health risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  4. Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment.
  5. Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports outlining root causes and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  6. Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility throughout the organization by fostering open communication, encouraging employee participation, and recognizing safety achievements.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety, health, and environmental considerations into all aspects of operations. Communicate effectively with management, employees, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders on safety-related matters.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve safety and health processes, procedures, and systems to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Relevant professional certifications.
  3. Proven experience in safety, health, and environmental management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  4. Strong knowledge of relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
