Job Title: Safety Manager - Mining Industry Location: KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa RPO Recruitment's client is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join their team in the mining industry in KwaZulu-Natal. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for employees. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the mining industry and be able to implement and monitor safety programs effectively. Responsibilities: Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with industry regulations Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks Train employees on safety protocols and procedures Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions Maintain safety records and reports for regulatory compliance Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness Stay informed of industry trends and developments in safety practices Requirements: Degree in Natural Sciences/Safety / Environment or equivalent Minimum 10 years of experience in a mining sector within SHEQ is required. A minimum MDP or alternate Business Management Qualification Legal competency in one or more of the specialists SHEQ areas with generalist knowledge of others Leadership in a form of team management is crucial.
