Job Title: Safety Officer - Mining Industry Location: Northern Cape, South Africa RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join their mining operation in the Northern Cape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors on site. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Provide safety training to employees and contractors on best practices and emergency procedures. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents. Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives. Participate in safety committee meetings and provide recommendations for improvement. Essential Requirements: COMSOC 1 and 2/SAMTRAC Diploma or degree in Health and Safety Management or related field would be advantageous Minimum 3 years relevant experience in safety within a mining environment Must reside in the Northern Cape Knowledge of mining regulations and best practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
