Grade 12 or equivalent at NQF level 4 · Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines · Certificate in Mine health and Safety legislation · ISO45001 Auditors certificate is advantageous · Diploma in Safety Management is advantageous · Chamber of Mines Safety Officer Certificates 1 & 2 At least Two (2) years' experience in the regular statutory reports compilation, reporting and monitoring · At least Five (5) years' experience in an underground mining environment Proficient in MS Package · Medical Certificate of Fitness Conduct workplace and machinery legal inspections as required by the Act and compile applicable reports / action plans. · Design and implement overall workplace risk management and follow-up systems · Conduct and manage risk assessments that indicate a need to establish and maintain a system of occupational health and safety as required by legislation and beyond · Develop, implement, and improve the occupational health and safety plans, programmes and procedures in the workplace · Ensure that employees have been properly trained or possess the necessary training or qualifications for the safe execution of their work and continuous on-the-job coaching/training is done as required · Ensure compliance with the relevant health and safety legislation as per the Regulation 2.17.1 appointment · Conduct investigations of machinery, equipment or health and safety related Incidents / Accidents · Manage Safety Representatives for the working places and ensure that training is provided
