Reference: JHB001090-VM-1 Well known and global technical company requires an experienced Safety Officer to join their team in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. This person must have experience with Open Cast mining or construction / earthmoving equipment. Matric and relevant Diploma / Certificate Minimum of 4-5 years Safety experience in Mining (Open Cast Mines) or construction / earthmoving SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1 and/or 2, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 ISO45001 or ISO14001 Reporting to the Site Manager. Managing maintaining the safety, Health, and environment requirements. Contractor pack management. Legal training. Management System including safety meetings and implementation of discussion Monthly Safety Inspections Booking of Medicals & Induction in conjunction with the site administrator Issue and control of PPE Assist with the tool store (Calibration certificates on various tooling) Assist Boilermakers in the storage of empty and full containers Managing, updating, compiling and control of safety files/packs. Booking of Medicals and Inductions Manage SHEQ on compliance on client's sites. Manage client SHE audits (contractor's packs) towards total compliance. Attending OEM Meetings Legal training (bookings, arranging, certificates, update the training register and managing training requirements for employees. OHC, forklift, eye tests, etc.(Safety Training Matrix) General Administrative duties Safety Inspections Review, compile and submit JRA's and follow up on WED documents Assist with High-Risk Work and evaluations Compile a weekly schedule on the next weeks HRW Assist with HRW verifications Assist with LMI checks and color coding every 3 months Ensure vehicle is fit to drive on the mine Assist site manager with investigations / near miss reports / NCR's / HPH's Identify risks in various workplaces Assist in getting operators declared competent and authorized Attend weekly planning meetings with the client Generating monthly reports Assist with Project Planning where necessary Monthly plus Basic salary, accommodation, medical aid, provident fund, cell phone, 13th cheque
