This leading large-scale agricultural company with established units in Vereeniging, Gauteng, among other places, currently requires a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced and analytical individual with excellent organizational, planning, financial, and communication skills (Afrikaans & English). Thorough knowledge and understanding of a similar industry would be ideal. The candidate must be able to work very meticulously, precisely, and accurately, being strict yet diplomatic. The purpose of this position is the optimal management of daily financial activities, oversight of work, and driving financial and operational goals. Preparing financial reports. Analyzing financial results. Maintaining cash forecasts. Performing account reconciliations. Maintaining the general ledger. Preparing tax returns. Assisting with audit preparations and performing other accounting duties as assigned. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements. Supervising all administrative employees. Implementing communication procedures between departments. Developing strategic initiatives to improve efficiency throughout the business. Preparing budgets. Traveling to different work sites (such as KZN) in other provinces is a requirement for this position. Degree in accounting, with approximately three years of relevant experience. Applicants with SAICA/CIMA clerkship will be preferred. Budget is R30k per month CTC. Willing to offer a bit more depending on experience and CIMA/SAICA clerkship. Allowances: Travel allowance with a fleet card. Cell phone compensation.
