Our client, a multi-national manufacturer of equipment for the construction and mining industry has a vacancy for a Sales and Operations Director who will lead the SSA team. The successful incumbent would have proven experience in a related industry and excellent commercial business acumen. Post graduate honours or master's degree is advantageous. MBA or Mechanical Engineering degree is an advantage. Package: R1 500 000 – R1 800 000 CTC per annum – negotiable Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales and operations department. Full management and oversight of the sales team, dealers, and the Sub-Saharan African sales region. Design and implement plans to meet and maintain company sales targets, manage budgets, and optimize expenses. Develop and nurture relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and dealers. Evaluate costs and pricing strategies for all machinery. Effectively communicate and report to local and EMEA Board as well as forming part of local Board of Directors. Collaborate directly with the Financial Director locally, in holistically steering the business. Actively contribute to developing compliance and transparency within the entity. Lead the sales team by developing, implementing, and executing strategic plans to achieve all sales targets and to increase profitability. Conduct market research to understand industry-specific trends, competition, supply, and demand costs. Analyse sales data to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities. Provide regular sales performance reports and forecasts to the Board.
