Sales Representative - South Africa

Our client is a leading importation company specializing in bringing the finest Italian food products,

wines, liquors, and catering equipment to the South African market since the early 1970s.

Headquartered in Johannesburg, we also maintain offices in Cape Town and Durban to better

serve the restaurant and hospitality industries.

Job Description

We are seeking a results-oriented Sales Representative to actively engage with prospective

customers while nurturing positive business relationships with our existing clientele. Your role

will involve providing comprehensive solutions tailored to restaurants, supermarkets,

delicatessens, and other food distributors. We are looking for an individual who can drive

revenue growth, expand customer acquisition, and enhance overall profitability. Knowledge of

the liquor and food industry is advantageous.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a dynamic Sales Representative to expand our distribution network in Cape

Town. The ideal candidate should possess a friendly demeanor, a proactive approach to sales,

and a strong passion for the industry. Your responsibilities will include increasing sales,

supporting marketing initiatives, and staying informed about industry trends. Experience in the

liquor industry, particularly with a focus on wine, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.

Promote and sell products using effective sales techniques to both existing and

prospective customers.

Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.

Analyze the market to assess potential, track sales, and compile status reports.

Provide management with reports on customer needs, issues, interests, competitive

activities, and potential for new products/services.

Stay updated on industry best practices and promotional trends.

Initiate contact with potential customers through cold calling.

Conduct cost-benefit and needs analysis for existing/potential customers to meet their

requirements.

Achieve agreed-upon sales targets within deadlines.

Requirements

Proven work experience as a Sales Representative.

Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements.

Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Highly motivated and target-driven with a successful track record in sales.

Strong selling, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to audience needs.

Valid drivers license and own vehicle.

Strong relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
