Seed Supply Planning Specialist - 6 month contract - South Africa

Reference: PTA001214-EV-1 An established agrochemical manufacturer is seeking the above to execute the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes by determining accurate demand and supply forecasts, finding opportunities to grow business, and increasing operational excellence through close cooperation with production. This is a 6 months' contract position. Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a BA/MA degree or equivalent, preferably with focus on Supply Chain Management or Logistics Minimum 5 years' experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and/or Finance is essential Outstanding communicator, organizer, strong integrity and influencing skills Must be proficient in English, with knowledge of an additional African language advantageous Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel on occasion. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Preparing and managing all the current season supply planning activities linked to the S&OP and S&OE processes. Providing timely and reliable information on the availability of inventory and any possible changes to the commercial requirements, supply plans, and inputs to finance to support the current year. Preparing for potential business risks and opportunities (upsides) to supply. Owning the in-season review processes to ensure management of all production planning operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute short-term (0 to 3 months) Demand/Supply matching and finding opportunities to grow business. Compiling and communicating accurate planning to the plants in order to ensure optimal inventory availability for the commercial organization and usage of plant capacity. Preparing and recommending production schedules to support campaign cycles. Supporting the finance cycles (5-year plan, budget etc.) with appropriate planning information. Calculating and supplying carry-over estimates for crop planning purposes. Monitoring levels of seed availability. Assisting with inventory management and providing inputs in D&O process for commercial seeds, steered by Inventory Analyst. Ensuring Process Improvement and Operational Excellence. Contributing to process improvements and/or new tools implementation in the planning team. Supporting the achievement of overall goals for the region by driving operational excellence in planning. Maintaining updated ISO9001 documents and processes and ensuring that compliance status is maintained.
