Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for a Senior Accountant in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - Improving our future. As our Senior Accountant, you will manage the full accounting process for project and service companies up to trial balance, prepare monthly internal reporting and analysis and support audit preparations and audit fieldwork enquiries. You will need to provide Provide the Finance Manager with management accounting information, manage payments for operating entities and reply to ad hoc queries. Main Responsibilities Group and management reporting: Monthly Management reporting queries and analysis of budget vs actual Financial accounting: Bank processing and reconciliation review for multiple accounts and companies Maintain, review and coordinate the fixed asset register (Solarpark assets, ARO, Office assets, Site assets, etc.) Reconcile the assigned balance sheet items monthly, e.g., Provisions, Accruals, pre-payments, FX Revaluation, cashbook, VAT Customer and Vendor reconciliations review Inter-company transactions: Process inter-company transactions Prepare and reconcile local and foreign intercompany schedules Confirm inter-company balances IFRS 16 Leases Prepare amortisation schedules and update Derivative valuation workbooks Prepare tax workings and quarterly calculations Prepare detailed Accrual sheets in line with implementation agreement, leases, etc. External audit - Prepare audit files and working papers, submitting audit requests Gather and summarise BBBEE procurement information and Economic Development cost Group reporting Generate and review P&Ls and balance sheets per segment Analyse asset management profit and loss account Complete the group reporting tool and disclosure forms Validate monthly checklists, i.e., variance analysis Project Accounting review and management Payment management: Coordinate payments and payment process Review of invoice for compliance, e.g., VAT, company details, purchase order Registering invoices with SA Reserve Bank Managing SARB applications and loading international payments People Management: Coaching junior accountants and accountants on going Review processing of junior accountants and accountants Compliance: Ensure timely and correct income tax, VAT, DWT submissions and payments.
