The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet profit and loss, and other statements.
- Analyse financial trends.
- Monthly Finance Reporting.
- VAT Preparation and submissions.
- Creating payment batches
- Manage weekly and monthly payments.
- Completes external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
- Assist with internal audits when required
- Prepare Forecast costs and Revenues.
- Prepare Budgets.
- Maintenance on asset registers
- Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Accounting
- Completed SAIPA / SAICA / CIMA articles will be advantageous or;
- 5 - 7 years financial experience
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, Financial Management, Accounting principles and Cost Accounting
