Assuming responsibility for the monthly actuarial experience process and generating reports for the team head and senior management to guide their decision-making;
Conducting bi-annual actuarial valuations and experience reports for approval of valuation results;
Performing semi-annual, detailed experience analysis to support assumption setting;
Establishing the annual budgets and capital plan for the business;
Creating and updating existing models and processes to enhance efficiencies and ensure the relevance and currency of all methodologies and assumptions;
Maintaining and enhancing data controls and systems; Evaluating the risks and profitability of product and pricing proposals;
Supervising direct reports;
Collaborating with other teams across the business to enhance data and client experience metrics.
Education and Experience:
Matric with Mathematics;
Bachelors/Honours degree in Actuarial Science from an accredited institution;
At least 6 years of working experience in an actuarial environment, preferably in the life insurance or employee benefits industries;
Minimum academic qualification towards a FASSA designation (or international equivalent).
