Reference: JHB003045-LF-1We are currently seeking a Senior Associate with 3 to 5 years PQE with an insolvency law background to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of insolvency processes and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients. An understanding of insurance law will be an advantage. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Law 3 to 5 years PQE in insolvency law, preferably gained at a reputable law firm Strong knowledge of insolvency laws, regulations, and procedures Insurance knowledge an advantage Fluent in English and Afrikaans Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders Proven ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively under pressure Package: Salary is market related, depending on experience and references with a profit share structure. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Manage a diverse caseload of insolvency matters, including bankruptcies, liquidations, receiverships, and restructuring. Provide strategic advice to clients on insolvency-related issues, including risk assessment, compliance, and recovery strategies. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client matters and provide well-reasoned advice. Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, agreements, court pleadings, and correspondence. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings related to insolvency matters. Collaborate effectively with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery of legal services. Stay updated on developments in insolvency law and related areas to inform client advice and strategy.
