Support the business strategic objectives from a Procurement point of view. Responsible for entire sourcing process of key and imminent service to support business units optimally- RFP/RFQ and RFI. Ensure assigned purchase orders are processed with proper terms & conditions and within the company's policy & procedures Ensure that the company meets its BBBEE spend targets. Acts as back-up in the absence of the Procurement Specialist Assists departments in defining purchasing needs and resolving associated problems Creates, maintains updated product/vendor information Obtain quotes, negotiate with vendors, source items with vendors, follow and expedite delivery Work from/with engineering/ maintenance requests for components for new projects as required Maintain effective liaison with all departments to present alternatives offered by suppliers, modification of design, standardization of products, parts or material, or other matters of mutual concern etc. In conjunction with the Procurement Manager, develop and investigate new sources of supply, make recommendations as to their approval Receive and interview vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, negotiate prices, service, quality, or other matters Responsible for the procurement of products, services, supplies and/or equipment in line with business requirements within minimum lead times Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management. Adherence of the DMS Powders Procurement Policy and Procedure at all times. Matric (Senior Certificate) Diploma/Degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management or CIPS Level 4 qualification Minimum 5 years' Senior buying experience, with at least 2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity, Strategic Sourcing and understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership methodology CIPS qualification/membership is mandatory Good knowledge of JD Edwards system is a must Computer literacy, including proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS Power- Point and MS Word National Driver's license (Essential) Solid analytical competency Extensive knowledge of preferential procurement and supply chain best practices Good knowledge of South African legislation pertaining to Supply Chain Problem solving skills Strong communication and negotiation skills Planning and organizing skills Fluent in English (write, read and speak) Market Related Apply Now
