To provide technical guidance and support to the design team, lead the project conception, preliminary and detailed design, tender documentation generations, contract management, consultancy function of the Project Office and client liaison, proposals, tenders, project profitability and unit financials. KEY RESULT AREA TASKS/ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES CUSTOMER LIAISON Liases with clients on detailed scope of projects Prepares designs to meet customer requirements Produces cost estimates for quotation of customers Prepares projects programme to customers' requirements Updates stakeholders in relation to project progress ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY Leadership of the professional team. Responsibility for the overall management of all sections of project delivery Responsibility for the overall coordination, programming of design and financial control of the project Prepares terms of reference for projects Prepare designs and drawings for compliance with customer requirements Prepare Tender documentation Provides responses to design queries from tenderers Carries out tender adjudication and recommends contract award Carries out contract award clarification review meetings and hand over project Carry out final commissioning and testing of installations Reviews contractors designs and drawings for compliance with customer requirements Act as resident engineer DESIGN AND PLANNING Plans and develops design , procedure, standards and codes of practice Checks environmental compliance of designs Prepares detailed designs and design documentation Answers to design deficiency queries from stakeholders Checks technical quality of installed designs Prepares project implementation plan work breakdown structures Registers baseline programme for monitoring performance Reviews project implementation plans and compares them with actual performance and ensures corrective action is taken Reviews as build documentation and corrects standard design QUALITY ASSURANCE , HEALTH AND SAFETY Prepare, monitors and reviews Quality Programmes as necessary Approves contractors and Consultants quality Programmes and audits their performance Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations FINANCE Prepares Project Budgets Prepares and monitors the project 's monthly cash flows Reviews project expenditure and cash flow programmes and institutes necessary control measures Certification for payment to Contractors Assesses financial implications and validity of contract claims and variations and recommends approval Ensure projects are completed within budget, time and quality Deliver excellent customer service Provide excellent customer service by meeting and exceeding the client requirements as per their requests Handle queries and resolve problems as they relate to area within scope of control Resolve customer issues within the desired time frame Follow up on customer queries, complaints etc where necessary Contribute to the development of Policies and Procedures for the Division Personal attributes Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills Strong presentation and communication skills Mature and self-motivated individual Professional and confident Optimize own and others performance Manage own performance in order to optimize team performance Manage team performance and conduct employee performance assessment in accordance with strategic objectives Value diversity and actively build relationships Develop, support and mentor employees within the team Conduct assessments in line with performance requirements of the Procurement Division ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES Developing detailed designs. Doing feasibility assessments, site inspections and construction management. Preparing and implementing project plans. Researching and providing estimates for projects. Monitoring and optimizing safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance. Making recommendations or presenting alternative solutions to problems. Confidently liaising with clients and other professional Project management duties (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.).
