CONTRACT ROLE Description: The Senior Data Modeler plays a crucial role in the organization's data management and analytics function. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data models to support business reporting, analytics, and decision-making processes. The Senior Data Modeler will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, analyze data sources, and develop scalable and efficient data models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, database design, and proficiency in relevant technologies and tools. Responsibilities: Design and develop data models to support business reporting, analytics, and data visualization requirements. Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand data requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Analyze existing data structures, data sources, and business processes to identify opportunities for data model optimization and improvement. Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation to ensure data integrity and governance. Implement best practices and standards for data modeling, database design, and data management across the organization. Work closely with database administrators, data engineers, and developers to ensure seamless integration and implementation of data models. Perform data profiling, data cleansing, and data quality assessments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data. Provide technical guidance and support to junior data modelers and analysts, including mentoring and knowledge sharing. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data modeling, database design, and data management. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in data modeling, database design, and data management. Proven track record of designing and implementing complex data models for enterprise-level applications and systems. Strong understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional modeling principles, and data warehousing architectures. Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or equivalent. Hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL). Experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is highly desirable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and translate them into effective data models. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
