Senior Data Scientist (AI) - South Africa
iOCO is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Scientist with a strong focus on AI projects to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing advanced AI solutions that address complex business challenges and drive strategic initiatives for our clients.

What you will do:
- AI Solution Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI-powered solutions to address business needs and objectives.
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, extract insights, and develop predictive models.
- Algorithm Development: Develop and optimize algorithms for machine learning and deep learning applications, with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Model Evaluation and Optimization: Evaluate the performance of AI models, identify areas for improvement, and optimize algorithms for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to deliver integrated AI solutions that meet client requirements.
- Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and data science, and proactively explore innovative approaches to solving complex problems.
- Project Management: Take ownership of AI projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, and actively contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives within the organization.
Your expertise:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science,
- Focus on AI and machine learning (beneficial)
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, as well as libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning architectures.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Apache Kafka is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
