The Debtors Clerk will play a crucial role in managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate financial records. Job Purpose: The Senior Debtors Clerk at SMD Technologies is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable process, identifying overdue accounts, and proactively contacting customers to secure payments. This role plays a vital part in maintaining healthy cash flow and contributes to the financial stability of the company. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable Management: Maintain accurate records of customer payments and outstanding balances. Identify overdue accounts and initiate collections procedures. Monitor accounts to ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues. Customer Communication: Initiate follow-up calls and correspondence with customers regarding outstanding invoices. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while firmly addressing payment concerns. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status for management review. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the debt collection process. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal teams to resolve customer payment issues. Communicate with external stakeholders, including clients and vendors, to facilitate payment resolution. Educational and Experiential Traits: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. 3-4 years of proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar finance role. Strong analytical skills to assess customer accounts and payment patterns. Exceptional attention to detail to maintain accurate financial records. Effective problem-solving abilities to address payment discrepancies. Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving financial processes. Deadline-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills for interacting with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships.
