Rockwell Automation's Industrial Component Business is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to be a significant contributor to Electrical and Control System Design activities. Responsible for the design, analysis, test and integration of the electrical, instrumentation and control components of an Industrial Control System. The position requires the proven ability to work with systems, hardware, and firmware design personnel to create project specifications and execute through the entire project cycle. This role reports to the Engineering Manager in Randburg, South Africa. Responsibilities Design and sign-off on Electrical Drawings for our projects - Profesional Registration will be preferred. Design Industrial Control System Solutions using Rockwell Automation equipment and software to enable safe electrical working of our client's operations Perform, delegate and supervise the testing of Industrial Control System Solutions during each project phase - focusing on electrical design and safety systems to support an integrated control system Create, validate and accept test reports on every project phase Lead local and international projects with the support of more experienced engineers Coordinate project tasks at local and international levels with the support of more experienced engineers Cooperate with the local engineering team to deliver business goals Delegate and accept project tasks Create, review and approve technical documentation according to various South African and International engineering standards Active participation in project meetings, present team and individual progress both locally and remote Attend mandatory training enabling to develop and broadening technical knowledge Attend newcomer's induction and development Support in the creation and updating of existing procedures, schematics and technical documentation Analyze, interpret and follow internal and external norms with the support of more experienced engineers Cooperate with strategic sourcing on new product development area Skills you have Extensive knowledge and experience working with industrial electrical systems, Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) Thorough understanding of how modern design of electrical systems can add benefit to the business of our industrial customers Demonstrated skills in the Industrial Control System Solutions development process Excellent communication skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently Basic qualifications Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Computer/Electronics Engineering 5 years of experience with electrical systems 5 years of experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC or similar) design and testing Legal authorization to work in South Africa and ability to travel internationally (15%) Preferred Qualifications Professional registration at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Familiarity with electrical design regulations internationally and in particular, South Africa Experience with writing and executing hardware and system test specifications. Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems which involve both hardware and firmware. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products (including VSDs, Motor Protection, Logix controllers and software tools) and/or other industrial control equipment.
