My client, a leading engineering firm, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Rivonia. The ideal candidate will come from an EPCM background, with strong project experience in the oil and gas industry. Ideal start date: as soon as possible Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead an electrical engineering and design team for the execution of the electrical scope on EPC and EPCM projects. Work with minimal supervision in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Adhere to the project schedule and manage the electrical design team to complete a project within the allocated budget. Liaise with other engineering disciplines and other departments to ensure alignment. Liaise with clients and vendors to ensure alignment. Perform electrical network studies and protection grading studies. Detail medium and low voltage substation design, including equipment specification and selection. Detail high voltage substation and overhead line design, including equipment specification and selection. Develop electrical specifications and designs compliant with local regulations and client specifications. Co-ordinate and oversee factory acceptance and site acceptance testing of electrical equipment. Review and approve the designs of other team members. REQUIREMENTS: Relevant engineering degree (i.e.: BSc, BEng) – non negotiable PREng registration preferred, candidate PREng will also be considered 5 years general electrical design experience with strong expereince in the Oil & Gas environment Network studies and protection grading studies. Medium and low voltage substation design. Field engineering experience, including lighting and small power design, earthing and lightning protection design, cable racking and routing design, cathodic protection design and cable sizing and selection. Hazardous area classification studies, drawings, and the selection of equipment for use in hazardous areas. Knowledge of and understanding of SABS / IEC standards. The ability to interpret MFD's and P&ID's Understanding of all engineering disciplines Valid driver's license and own vehicle Must be willing and able to travel to various sites nationally
