Senior Finance Consultant (mSCOA municipalities) - Bloemfontein

The position detailed below is that of a Senior consultant directly responsible but not limited to the implementation of mSCOA at all Municipalities across the country at applicable provinces. In addition, the position includes but us not limited to handle, prepare, compute, manage, research, and analyze all accounting data. Based on this, a Senior consultant needs to reconcile accounting records, compile financial statements, and prepare National Treasury reports and or any other statutory reports required by governing bodies. Qualifications and experience required: B.com degree or equivalent diploma (NQF 6). Active member of SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA would be advantageous. Extensive Knowledge of the MFMA, GRAP and mSCOA is compulsory 10 years local government experience at a senior level Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, teams, projects, and Outlook SQL experience is highly advantageous Sound organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Deadline oriented and excellent attention to details Time management Managing support consultants Valid driver’s license Must be willing to travel extensively. Responsibilities: To work within the framework of the overall objectives of the projects assigned to. To work under the supervision and direction of the Senior Manager. Assist with the implementation and support of mSCOA at municipalities in line with provided guidelines and regulations. Assessment of municipalities’ current business processes and performing a GAP analysis. Set up and configuration of company systems. Proficiency in operating the company system Assist municipalities to enter data into computer system using defined computer programs (Venus, Pastel, Payday, CaseWare etc.) Compilation of annual financial statements and audit support Ensure Compliance to the National Treasury reporting requirements Perform reconciliations from sub-module to the general ledger in the financial system Training and handholding of municipal staff Supervision and mentoring of support staff Travel to client to perform on-site duties nationally. Always maintain audit evidence as work was performed. (Electronic and hard copy) To work effectively within a team environment. Keep updated with financial policies, regulations, and legislation. Conduct performance appraisals of support staff. All administrative tasks should be completed as per the internal company policies (I.e., Timetrax, ESS, NOSA travel etc.) Apply Now
