Senior Financial Accountant - Western Cape A merchant services provider who provides cost-effective point-of-sale (POS) terminals and fast processing times, is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team based in Century City, Cape Town. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Team leader responsible for managing and training three team members Responsible for compiling daily and weekly reports to assist executive management in the business-making decision process Responsible for the preparation of month-end management accounts and supplementary reports for submission to group and to executive management Responsible for the preparation and or review of month-end reconciliations, journal entries and supplementary reports Responsible for testing data sets and providing feedback to the necessary stakeholders regarding any new projects taken on by the company Assists business with any reporting/information/data required by them in the decision-making process Review of daily and month-end duties performed by the Financial Accountant and bookkeeper Responsible for compiling monthly Income tax calculations Responsible for reviewing monthly VAT calculations submitted by the Financial Accountant Assist with ad hoc merchant reconciliations and or queries Assist with the BEE compliance process Daily settlement function (training will be provided) Daily payment approval, loading and releasing Responsible for reviewing and approving of monthly supplier payment run Facilitate the audit process for Card Connect and assist the auditors with any queries they have or documentation they require Assist with the annual budget and forecasting process Ensuring processes across business functions are adhered to for financial information to be accurate and complete Assist with any ad-hoc queries from various departments (sales, debtors, merchant services and IT) Any other ad hoc duties as required REQUIREMENTS BCom Accounting degree Completed three-year SAICA articles An auditor-type mindset for risk analysis and internal control application Strong Excel skills. Should be able to build new reporting and work with large data sets in Microsoft Excel Sage X3 knowledge advantageous Required skills and competencies Team player and can lead and manage a small team effectively Strong reconciliation and investigation skills Monthly Salary: R55000 - R55000
