Graphic Designer Location: South Africa (with potential travel to East African countries) Overview: The Graphic Designer will play a key role in creating visually compelling and engaging marketing materials, branding assets, and digital content to support our company's expansion into the East African region. This role requires a talented and creative individual with expertise in graphic design, digital media, and branding, as well as a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices. The Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with the Creative Manager and other team members to develop innovative design solutions that effectively communicate our brand message and resonate with our target audience. Responsibilities: Conceptualize, design, and produce a wide range of marketing materials, including digital ads, social media graphics, email campaigns, website assets, print collateral, and promotional materials. Develop and maintain brand identities, style guides, and visual standards to ensure consistency and coherence across all marketing channels and touchpoints. Collaborate with the Creative Manager and other stakeholders to translate marketing objectives and creative briefs into visually compelling and on-brand design concepts and executions. Execute design projects from start to finish, including ideation, layout design, image selection, typography, colour correction, and final production, ensuring high-quality, polished deliverables that meet project requirements and deadlines. Utilize graphic design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), to create original artwork and graphics, manipulate images, and produce print-ready and web-friendly files. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in graphic design, digital media, and branding, and incorporate innovative ideas and techniques into design work. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to understand project requirements, gather feedback, and collaborate on design solutions that align with business objectives. Participate in brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and creative discussions, contributing ideas and insights to enhance the overall creative process and drive innovation. Adapt designs and assets for various platforms and channels, ensuring optimal display and performance across different devices and screen sizes. Maintain organized file management systems and archives, ensuring easy access to design assets and resources for future use and reference. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or diploma in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field. At least 3-5 years of professional experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and styles, including digital and print materials, branding, and marketing collateral. Proficiency in graphic design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), as well as experience with digital design platforms and online collaboration tools. Strong understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, layout composition, and branding fundamentals, with the ability to apply these concepts creatively and effectively. Knowledge of digital printing processes, file formats, and production techniques, as well as experience preparing print-ready and web-friendly files for various output formats and devices. Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet project timelines and deliverables. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well independently as well as part of a cross-functional team, receive feedback constructively, and contribute ideas and solutions to creative discussions. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality, error-free work that meets or exceeds client expectations and brand standards.
