An exciting career opportunity exists in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape for a Senior Lecturer in ICT (Information Communication Technology) within a Higher Education environment. Requirements: PhD in Education with Information Communication Technology (ICT) Education as specialisation Teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels in ICT Education. Teaching experience in any dimension of Educational Studies. Teaching experience in Educational Research courses and programmes Research supervision experience at Honours, Masters and PhD levels. Track record of administration, management and/or leadership roles at department and faculty levels Ability to conceptualise, design and implement policy aligned and theoretically informed ICT courses across qualification levels Evidence of the generation and dissemination of ICT knowledge and research in the field of ICT Education through publications and conference papers Emerging national profile in ICT Education Involvement in national research projects would be an advantage Evidence of community engagement initiatives in the field of ICT Education A qualification in one of the dimensions of Educational Studies would be an advantage: Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, History of Education, Curriculum Studies. Duties include the following, but not limited to: Work professionally and produce work of a high quality Relate theory to practice and vice versa Integrate own research into teaching Adapt teaching and assessment practices in response to different class sizes and contexts Provide academic, professional and emotional support to students. Teach and research in line with the university’s transformational agenda Teach and coordinate across courses, year groups and programmes Participate in work integrated learning of academic programmes Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Use computers and ICT’s appropriate to the work of a University Academic Think strategically, creatively and analytically Develop and oversee budgets Work independently and as a member of a team, sometimes under pressure Work reflexively and constructively with feedback and criticism.
