SENIOR LECTURER: SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY - - Eastern Cape

Minimum Requirements:

A relevant Doctoral Degree
A teaching qualification and specialization in Science Education / Technology Education
At least 3 years experience in higher education
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in the area of Science Education / Technology Education
A record of accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer
Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters/Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer

Evidence of supporting early career academics.
Recognition in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating).
Evidence of networking and collaboration beyond one institution in research and/or teaching

Duties:

Participate in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules
Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of senior lecturer level
Secure external research grants
Supervise postgraduate students
Establish institutional, regional or national collaborations
Contribute to mentorship of emergent academic staff
Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
Participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels
