Thompsons Travel is searching for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Leisure Consultant to join our fantastic company in Johannesburg Outstanding candidates should be able to make traveling as stress-free as possible for the client. If you are passionate about travel and helping others do the same, you will love this job The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with in-depth knowledge of domestic and international travel destinations. To succeed in this role, you should also possess outstanding negotiation and sales skills. Make clients’ travel dreams a reality. Join us and we will offer you support, systems (we use Amadeus) and expertise and you will acquire an expanding and dedicated clientele Requirements Your ultimate goal will be to keep our Leisure clients satisfied and loyal for future services, so, be prepared daily for the following: This role involves planning holidays and suggesting travel destinations. Work with Corporate as well as Leisure clients to determine their traveling needs. Conducting ongoing research You will deal directly with clients, booking hotels, flights, and excursions, and arrange suitable transportation for them in a timely manner. Negotiating the best rates with hotels, rental companies, tour guides, and restaurants Be willing to answer all questions and queries in a professional manner. Strong communication skills are essential and you must be able to make effective recommendations based on the client's needs Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and maintaining client confidentiality All you need is: Diploma in travel, tourism, or an equivalent Minimum 4 years’ experience working in the Leisure travel industry Amadeus proficiency and experience essential Quicktrav knowledge In-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign travel destinations Strong customer service skills Above average sales and interpersonal skills Target driven Benefits You will be working within a fast-paced environment with a team of dedicated individuals putting the satisfaction and safety of our customers at the heart of all we do There will be plenty of leads so no need for cold calling Basic salary plus sales commission
