Senior Manager - Financial Crime Risk Management - Johannesburg
We are looking for an experienced Financial Crime Risk Manager to work for one of our clients within the banking space (wealth division), t Job Purpose ? To provide relevant financial crime risk management services and consulting to stakeholders and clients, ensuring compliance with the relevant financial crime rules and regulations and risk management frameworks and best practice Job Responsibilities • Ensure alignment of client and Business strategies and the achievement of the objectives of the relevant financial crime risk management services • Ensure alignment of business processes to changes and/or amendments received from the relevant regulators • Improve the control culture and ensure others comply with laws, regulations, and guidelines • Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in clients culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI • Prepare relevant meeting packs and month end reporting for management • Become a trusted advisor to stakeholders by providing guidance and support on relevant financial crime risk management services: o Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters, websites and attending sessions • Professional Knowledge and Skills o Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical, functional, and/or professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; keeping up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise; leveraging expert knowledge to accomplish results • Communication o Conveying information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message, listening actively to others • Continuous Improvement o Originating action to improve existing conditions and processes, identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas, and implementing solutions • Client Centricity o Placing the client in the centre of process and execution Type of Exposure (Skills) • Conducting root cause analysis • Analysing situations or data that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors • Developing ways to minimize risks • Drafting reports • Managing conflict situations • Influencing internal stakeholders to obtain buy-in for concepts and ideas • Sharing information in different ways to increase clients understanding • Comparing two or more sets of information • Developing a client service delivery plan • Managing business risks • Presenting to senior leaders • Interacting with diverse people • Providing specialist advice/ opinion • Answering customer questions People Specification (Attributes) Embodiment of the following characteristics: • Risk Optimiser o Understanding that risk is at the centre of everything in banking and other relevant industries o Developing the appropriate risk appetite o Managing risk without stifling innovation o Being sensible about risk • Client Centric Advocate o Placing the client at the centre o Being relationship focussed o Collaborating with colleagues across organisational boundaries • Execution Expert o Having a bias for action o Focussing efforts on execution and implementation o Practicing decisive leadership o Simplifying things • Strategist o Being a strategic thinker o Being a strategic translator o Being a strategic implementor o Facilitating strategic dialogue Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Bachelor of Commerce and Advanced Diplomas in risk and or compliance fields Preferred Qualification ? Bachelor of Commerce: Honours Minimum Experience Level ? 8 - 12 years relevant business experience in general banking and/or other relevant industries, including 3-5 years working within the SA relevant financial crime compliance and risk management environment.
