We are urgently searching for a Senior Draughtsperson to work in Duncanville Vereeniging. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION This individual will play a crucial role within the dynamic design and drawing office, which is integral to upholding the company's patented technologies, driving innovation, and meeting both internal and external design needs. As a senior mechanical draughts person, the primary responsibility will be to implement design and drawing modifications based on instructions provided by the company's design and site engineers. Additionally, the role involves conducting root cause analyses, reverse engineering tasks, and participating in engineering investigations as part of a collaborative team effort. Given the department's focus on problem-solving, possessing strong analytical skills is highly recommended for this position. KPA 1: PROVIDE ACCURATE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING INFORMATION (DRAWING) WEIGHTING OUTCOMES: 1. Create accurate technical drawings/specifications. 2. Produce adequate graphical information for procedures/standards or other technical documentation. 3. Evaluate the adequacy of technical drawings in compliance to the drawing standards and design requirements (engage effectively with engineers KPA 2: ADHERENCE TO STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS WEIGHTING OUTCOMES: 1. Understand mechanical design codes communicated by engineers and apply them. 2. Compliance to the drawing standards. 3. Document control and traceability. Compliance to ISO 9001:2015. 4. Effective verbal and non-verbal communication of technical information. 5. Engage in brainstorming sessions and find solutions to problems. KPA 3: EFFICIENT SOFTWARE UTILIZATION Weighting OUTCOMES 1. Must be able to use Autodesk Inventor effectively. 2. Must be able to train and mentor other junior draught people or learners using Autodesk Inventor. 3. Stay on the forefront of software development and new features and be able to effectively implement this in practice. KPA 4: INNOVATION AND COMMUNICATION Weighting OUTCOMES 1. Be actively part in the development of existing and new solutions driving the business forwards. 2. Table new ideas and engage in adding value. 3. Be committed to career development which will enhance personal professional abilities and improve the competitive edge of the company. 4. Always ensures customer needs are met by effective, open and transparent communication Qualification in Mechanical Draughting – (like CTU etc.) Autodesk Inventor – Autodesk Certification with sound knowledge Computer Literate (MS) Min 5 Years on the job exp. mechanical draughting (Power station exp. not a necessity) Driver's license and own reliable transport Neg.
