To manage, monitor and execute preventative and reactive maintenance in the packaging departments within the Danone Factory. Coach and guide team members on maintenance related activities and problem-solving techniques. Drive continuous improvement. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Quality Ensure adherence to quality standards, procedures, policies and practices Ensure that all breakdowns and preventative maintenance and/or scheduled maintenance activities are carried out to high standards of workmanship Adhere to HACCP and CIP protocols Monitor and ensure compliance with housekeeping standards: ensure that work areas and machinery is kept clean at all times 100 % adherence to all DPM's for allocated area Costs Ensure that breakdowns are attended to timeously, thereby reducing production downtime. Minimize stoppages and increase plant availability by implementing plant maintenance strategies. Ensure that maintenance tasks are executed within budget (i.e., reduce spare parts consumption where possible and attempt to curtail costs associated with breakdowns) Adhere to finance related policies, procedures and controls Continuously identify cost effect ways of delivering world class service, identify cost saving initiatives and recommend improvements Lead maintenance specific problem solving initiatives Ensure critical spare parts available per designated area Delivery Proactively implement the maintenance plan. Report on the efficiency of the maintenance plan and suggest improvements where possible Support the Millwright when conducting preventative maintenance tasks and fixing breakdowns. Monitor the performance of team members to ensure that breakdown and scheduled maintenance is executed within the agreed time frame Monitor the packaging / processing areas (from a maintenance viewpoint) to ensure smooth operation at all times Liaise with stores to ensure that all spare parts are available to execute the maintenance plan. Monitor, measure and trend maintenance related production downtime. Use this information to improve maintenance service to the factory. Assist in assembling, commissioning and decommissioning lines Uphold Good Manufacturing Practice principles. Monitor and ensure that all CUTE/Shopware documentation is completed accurately Ensure adherence to DAMAWY procedures and process Complete all required documentation as required (maintenance, safety, quality, etc.) Attend department required meetings Adhere to escalation procedure Team Management/Morale Motivate, engage, inspire team members: encourage team members to strive for excellence in all that they do Coach and guide team members on maintenance related activities and problem solving techniques Be the custodian of the company values and CODE Monitor KPIs and lead initiatives aimed at achieving targets set Take responsibility for your own learning and development (subject to budgetary constraints) and performance Environment Ensure adherence to the environment policies, procedures and standards Safety Ensure that employees are properly trained on safe work procedures. Manage and monitor adherence to safety regulations, procedures and policies Identify, manage and report safety hazards Execute safety incident/accident investigations as required Participate in safety dialogues as per guidelines Participate in safety audits and action plan implementation as and when required Ensure compliance with LOTO procedures KEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB Qualification(s) & Experience: N3/N4, Qualified Millwright 5 - 10 years' maintenance experience within a FMCG environment, Processing, Utilities and Packaging experience would be an advantage.
