Our company is looking for a beauty specialist that will focus on the care and appearance of nails. They will provide a range of services related to nail health and beauty, including manicures, pedicures, nail extensions, and nail art. Here is a detailed job description of what you will do as a nail technician:Responsibilities Manicures and Pedicures: Provide basic care for clients' hands and feet, including nail shaping, cuticle care, buffing, and applying polish. Special treatments like paraffin wax, hot oil, or massage may also be part of the service. Nail Art and Design: Apply specialized nail art, including designs, decals, and enhancements like gems or glitter. This requires a steady hand and creativity. Nail Extensions and Enhancements: Apply and maintain nail extensions (acrylics, gel, fiberglass) and overlays to enhance the appearance of clients' nails. This includes filling, re-balancing, and removal. Health and Safety: Ensure that all tools and work areas are sanitized and maintained according to health and safety regulations to prevent the spread of nail infections and diseases. Client Consultation: Consult with clients about their nail care needs, recommend services and products, and provide advice on nail health and care. Product Sales and Inventory Management: Promote and sell nail care products, manage inventory, and order supplies as needed. Appointment Scheduling and Management: Schedule client appointments, manage bookings, and maintain client records. Trends and Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in nail design, techniques, and products. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities. Skills and Qualifications Certification: Cosmetology or nail technician program and pass a licensing exam. Attention to Detail: Precision in applying polish, creating designs, and performing treatments. Creativity: Ability to create a wide range of nail art designs. Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure clients are comfortable and satisfied with their service. Dexterity and Coordination: Steady hands and fine motor skills for detailed work. Knowledge of Products and Techniques: Understanding of various nail care products, techniques, and trends. Hygiene and Sanitation: Knowledge of health and safety standards and protocols. Time Management: Ability to manage appointments and perform services within a set timeframe. Hard Skills:Proficiency in full spectrum Nail Technology, encompassing: Basic Manicure and Pedicure techniques Gel Overlays, Tips, and Sculpting Liquid & Powder Acrylic Overlays, Tips, and Sculpting Advanced Nail Art capabilities A minimum of three years of professional experience. Proficient in the use of computers, with regular use of Excel and Word. Soft Skills: A genuine passion for the beauty industry and nail care. Keen on disseminating knowledge within the field. Professional appearance and punctuality. Up-to-date with the latest trends in nail design. Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly regardless of accent. Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills. Excellent time management, with the capability to finish tasks promptly and seek help when necessary. Team player, willing to support colleagues as needed. Non-Negotiables: Mandatory participation in bi-monthly in-store demonstration days alongside a sales consultant to highlight new products, launches, and provide troubleshooting (excluding in-store training). Compulsory attendance at bi-monthly AM and PM internal training sessions. Example timings include 7:30-8:30 AM remote training and 5:30-6:30 PM remote training, subject to change. Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM at the Academy in Hyde Park. Occasional weekend or after-hours nail appointments may be scheduled, with notice and compensatory leave. Adherence to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with comprehensive training provided before the start date and on an ongoing basis, which may occur outside of regular hours. Exclusivity agreement preventing engagement in additional work, whether in beauty salons or other fields, during weekdays and weekends. Must possess a car and a valid driver's license.
