Senior Network Specialist Cape Town - Cape Town Region

The Network Specialist will be responsible for managing WAN and LAN infrastructure , including assisting with remediation of the cyber security vulnerabilities of these networks. The role will be responsible for maintaining existing infrastructure as well as creating designs to integrate new sites and manage the relevant service provider contracts that support the infrastructure. Managing and maintaining infrastructure hardware to maximise the availability of the WAN/LAN Developing monitoring and performance analysis systems relating the network infrastructure Designing and developing implementation plans for integration to new sites Identifying, motivating and implementing business continuity plans (BCP) relating to the functionality of the WAN/LAN Technical 2nd and 3rd line support on infrastructure Implementing best practices relating to cyber security. The role will be required to ensure that the business conforms to relevant standards Monitoring of the networks for any vulnerabilities. Advise the organisation on any potential threats and manage the resolution of them Assist the Cyber Security Team with the remediation of network vulnerabilities Providing general support to all operations teams Supporting the integration between Operations Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) Completing other tasks as delegated by the IT Manager 3 years' relevant work experience High competency in managing Palo Alto or FortiGate UTM Firewalls and Juniper network equipment Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar level certifications Relevant BEng or BSc in Engineering. Bachelor's in computer science or Network Engineering FortiGate NSE 1 to 7 certifications Juniper JNCIA certifications Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Previous project management or coordination experience
