Senior Operations Planner - Cape Town City Centre

We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive, and meticulous Senior Operations Planner to join a goal-oriented team. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED: Bachelor's degree or diploma in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field. NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE: Between 5- and 7-years' experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations planning. Experience in managing shipping/logistics through imports, incoterms, and customs procedures (including cold chain). Proven experience in inventory management and material replenishment. Advanced knowledge in SAP. Vaccine logistic operations nationally and internationally. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: Leadership: Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to the operational planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement Enterprise Resource Planning: Act as the primary liaison between the operational planning team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation, maintenance, and utilization of ERP systems for production planning, scheduling, and inventory management. Operational Planning: Develop and execute operational plans optimizing workflows and processes to meet operational volumes, projects, and demand to satisfy site and business objectives. Material Replenishment Management: Coordinate the replenishment of materials, collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain adequate inventory levels. Inventory Control and Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate tracking of materials (raw materials and components), vaccine stock at different stages of production and to limit scrap costs. Stakeholder Engagement: Accountable to ensure routine engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure site operations meet both business objectives as well as commercial commitments. Logistics and Distribution Oversight: Manage logistics operations for transporting vaccines between production sites, warehouses, and distribution centres. Continuous Process Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement and implement measures to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize the vaccine supply chain. Manufacturing Knowledge: Good understanding of the manufacturing processes and how inventory management interfaces with production processes, including new material/product onboarding, quarantine, release, use, expiration and rejection. Logistics and Distribution: Familiarity with logistics planning, transportation methods, and distribution strategies tailored to the unique requirements of vaccine transportation, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Materials Planning and Replenishment: Experience in coordinating and managing material replenishment activities, working closely with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels for uninterrupted vaccine production.
