WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE The team's activities are varied, and you will need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and get involved in everything from a HR generalist activities and work in partnership with our Centre's of Excellence (Talent, People Operations, Reward and Benefits and Learning and Development). The main day to day tasks includes, but are not limited to: Be the dedicated regional point of contact for employees and managers across the Agency within South Africa and the Middle East, and be responsible for other countries like: Nigeria, Israel (this list can change) Support and advise your stakeholders in relation to people issues, ensuring they understand the impact of these on both the individual and the business. Monitor our monthly Peakon employee feedback and work closely with your stakeholders to drive engagement, development, and support. Build and maintain an excellent knowledge of employees, objectives, and business processes. Coaching and supporting managers on staffing issues in the areas of performance management, sickness, absence, grievances, probationary reviews, and capability of escalating to the Head of EMEA as appropriate. Plan and execute all change management elements of restructuring, redundancy, and cost saving initiatives. Support the bi-annual salary review process. Maintain knowledge and understanding of South Africa and Middle Eastern employment law, and other EMEA jurisdictions, to ensure advice given is current and accurate, working in partnership with our local experts/legal teams as required. Actively identify gaps, propose, and implement changes to process and procedure to ensure we continually deliver a great employee experience. Support the HR team with any ad-hoc projects or assignments for other countries as well. Ensuring 100% compliance around core HR processes e.g. right to work checks. Ensuring all staff changes are captured accurately and on time and updated within the HRIS system and payroll process e.g. new joiners/leavers, maternity leave, promotions etc. and ensuring data is kept up to date and accurate. Interpret metrics and data and draw insights to support line management in making robust people and business decisions. Liaising with Payroll for all new starters, variances, and leavers. 100% accuracy is key. Leads research and analysis used to develop corporate sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with local government rules and regulations. Promotes and explains the companie's sustainability philosophy to internal and external audiences. WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL We are open to different levels of experience but would like to see some of the below: Previous experience of working as an HR generalist, working across multiple jurisdictions in EMEA, supporting managers and employees from diverse backgrounds, with the ability to follow through complex queries. Experience of dealing with the end-to-end process for employee relations issues such as change management, disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, etc. Proactive in your approach to improving and providing effective and efficient support of all HR activities. Excellent attention to detail whilst under pressure & working with high volumes, with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously. High levels of tenacity & a delivery focused approach. Ability to work in ambiguous situations, push back, ask questions & comfortable in environments of change. Highly organised with a natural ability to prioritise. Ability to understand a matrix environment with global teams (i.e. several legal entities/countries within the same team), and able to navigate the complexity. Experience of working with multiple stakeholders, including country specific Managing Partners, and the People team Centres of Excellence (Operation, payroll, Comp & Ben, International mobility, D&I). Aptitude for working in a truly global team, and ensure partnerships are maintained to ensure the delivery of a world class People Partnering Service.
