Role Overview As the Senior PHP Developer, you will be reporting to the Head of Product and will work with a highly efficient team of developers. You would be writing clean PHP code to a high standard in a timely and scalable way to improve the code-base of products in a meaningful way. You must be confident in writing Vanilla PHP code. If you are successful, You would need to be able to travel to Cape Town for our onboarding programme for the first 3 months in our beautiful offices. Job type: Onsite | Full Time Location: Cape Town Technical Requirements: BSc Degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or Relevant Software Related Qualification 5 years experience working as a PHP Developer or similar role Solid experience on PHP 8, MySQL, Sass, Vue.js, Git, and REST Knowledge and experience with one or more development methodologies Extensive knowledge of software development and its technologies Strong knowledge of user interfaces Solid troubleshooting skills Required Attributes: Excellent communication skills in order to both understand the needs of the project but also give feedback to stakeholders and input to other team members Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work with an international team with international customers in different time zones. Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease Possess proficient analytical and decision-making skills. Fluent in English Responsibilities Being part of dev team, writing PHP code contributing to defined sprints Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle Collaboration with the Lead developer and Product Owner Collaborate with other developers Design, code and maintain applications using best practices Code development and architecture based on development lead specifications. Design and deliver scalable, secure code that enable the digital offering Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality Support projects through testing, reviewing and fixing defects as necessary.
