Senior Power Engineer - South Africa
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop requirements, investigations, information and other data
- for technical designs and trade of studies
- Direct and manage a project to completion within performance
- management baselines (scope, schedule, cost, resources and
- quality)
- Ensure contractors designs and installations comply with the
- organisation and statutory requirements
- Ensure site power operations complies with the organisations
- technical and quality requirements
- Ensure the quality of power received from Eskom meets the
- Electricity Supply Agreement conditions in place
- Contribute towards the graduate training program and mentor
- junior employees and site team
Key Requirements:
Qualification:
- B.Tech Electrical plus 10+ years relevant experience OR
- B.Eng Electrical plus 9+ years relevant experience OR
- M.Eng Electrical plus 7+ years relevant experience OR
- Ph.D Electrical plus 5+ years relevant experience OR
Experience:
- Preferably come from a consulting engineering background;
- Previous experience on multi-disciplinary projects (Conceptual
- Stage to Construction Close-out);Held position of responsibility and accountable for designs andproject delivery;
- Experienced with complete project lifecycle from inception to close-out
- Experience in operations and maintenance of electricity
- distribution systems
Knowledge:
- Design and operation of power generation and distribution
- systems
- Project management processes
- System engineering best practices
- Working knowledge of built environment contracts especially NEC
- Knowledge of the industrys standards and regulations
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience related radio
- astronomy infrastructure projects
