EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract (12 months with possibility of extension based on delivery) COMPANY: A large financial services company based in Cape Town. LOCATION: Cape Town (Hybrid working model - 3 days in the office, 2 days remote) DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Ensures that the project charter/project management plan is adequately defined and aligned to the business case (where applicable) and understood and, where appropriate, assists in the development of the Benefits Realisation Plan (in terms of the execution of the Benefits Realisation Plan). Ensure alignment between approved Business Case and project delivery. Manages and is accountable for the delivery of multiple projects, programs or single large/complex projects/programs with minimal supervision in accordance with the PM methodology, governance, and standards. Accountable for resource contracting and optimal utilisation. Effective Risk, Issue, Actions, Budget, Dependency, and Stakeholder Management. Smooth transition from project implementation to ongoing BAU Support and Maintenance. Accountable for procurement process, vendor contracting, and delivery management in accordance with contractual agreements. Effective utilisation of project management forums for reporting, escalation, and decision-making. Apply for funds to be released for project execution with Sponsor approval. Facilitate prioritisation process of scope items across multiple business entities based on: Available capacity Budget availability Expected business benefit realisation Formalise Change Management (scope, budget, timeline) Stakeholder management through stakeholder identification, establishing and maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders Develops and ensures the execution of the communication plans during initiation and throughout the project KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of Project Management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices Principles of Project Management Project Life Cycle Project Planning and control techniques Good understanding of SDLC processes Good understanding of SCRUM and Agile PM methodologies Knowledge of project management tools in a Waterfall and Agile context Resource Management Financial Management Business Case Development Contract and Vendor Management Competencies: Results Driven - Ability to deliver results in a matrix-managed environment by gaining the confidence and trust of the various stakeholders Leadership: The ability to motivate and lead a multi-skilled team Analytical thinking Proactive planning and influencing Relationship building and communication skills Conflict handling Facilitation skills Passion for problem-solving and issue resolution QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Grade 12 Relevant IT or Project Management qualification EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 8-10 years experience working in a project environment of which 2-3 years working with medium to high-complexity projects Experience working in the financial services industry ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS: Prior experience with AI deliveries Please note: If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
