Overview Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialised utility programs, with a focus on RPG development. Responsibilities Application Software Development : Develop complex new and existing applications, identifying areas for modification and improvement. Software Maintenance : Monitor and correct software defects to ensure fully functioning applications. Testing : Perform software tests and address performance issues. Information Security : Implement security measures and monitor performance. Capability Building : Engage in ongoing training and professional development. Team Development : Coach team members to enhance their skills. Operational Compliance : Ensure team compliance with organizational policies and regulations. Software Roadmap : Contribute to and maintain the development roadmap. Customer Service : Provide quality service and support retention efforts. Tasks Modify existing software to fix errors and improve performance. Direct software testing and validation. Consult with customers and other departments on project status and technical issues. Analyse information to plan new systems or modifications. Coordinate software system installations. Oversee and assign work to technical staff. Advise customers on software maintenance. Train users on new or modified systems. Education Matric with a recognised software development certification/ degree/ diploma (Essential) Experience 5 or more years experience using relevant programming languages or technologies (Essential); Azure experience (Advantageous) Salaries are negotiable and an offer will be based on each individual's skills, qualifications, and experience in line with market standards.
