Senior Sales Manager - Durban

Role The main objective of this role is to increase sales performance of agencies, identify all development opportunities and organize and manage sales teams to develop & improve client portfolio. By representing the business interests of the company and developing direct relationships with major customers of the agencies. This role will also manage all verticals of the Commercial function including Marketing, VAS, CH, X-Sell and the National Sales Desks. Responsibilities: In collaboration with your CCO, you will: Develop commercial activities and assist in defining the commercial strategy in accordance with the objectives/targets set by the group Set up, organise and drive sales teams to follow up on the customer portfolio and identify growth opportunities within the area Set the objectives of local teams and monitor sales performance Ensure the proper use of marketing tools by your teams Identify competition and potential customers Report weekly to the CCO/DRO and Head Office Lines/Commercial teams Analyse market trends, potential additional revenues & volumes, providing recommendations where necessary Conduct & participate in business studies for the potential development of services or lines along with the CCO/MD/DRO/HO Represent the business interests of the company and develop direct relationships with major customers Regularly accompany your sales team during customer visits Management of the commercial team nationally Skills and Qualifications: A postgraduate degree in a related field 8 years in a management position 8 years’ experience in a commercial orientated position Commercial experience in a maritime environment will be an added advantage Personal Attributes: Excellent interpersonal skills Sales technique knowledge Financial & Economic knowledge Business Intelligence.
