Senior Security Officer - South Africa

SENIOR SECURITY OFFICER REF NO: DPSA/0043 SALARY : R148 584 per annum (Level 6). Annual progression up to maximum salary of R175 023 per annum is possible subject to satisfactory performance. CENTRE : Pretoria REQUIREMENTS : Senior Certificate Grade 12 or equivalent at NQF level 4. Extensive experience in a security environment. PRISA Grade B. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft office software specifically Word and Excel. Ability to work under pressure. Personal qualities: self starter and self driven. A team player and ability to work under pressure. Experience on Electronic Security System is recommendable. Drivers’ license. DUTIES : Management and control of physical security i.e. access control, patrols escorting visitors and key control. Supervision and performance management of staff. Compile monthly duty rooster for security officers. Implementation of Contingency Planning. Conducting physical security audits. Investigations. Arranging and managing security training awareness campaigns. Assist in drafting the security policies, information pamphlets and training materials to inform staff of security issues. General office administration including organising and managing individual security files and other registers. Analysing and reporting on information recorded in relevant registers and computerized security access equipment. Monitor control room electronical system. Programming of access cards.
