FirstRand Group Treasury is looking for an experienced Fixed Income Portfolio Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of fixed income securities, including bonds, notes, and other debt instruments. You will be responsible for making investment decisions, analyzing economic trends, monitoring market conditions, and executing trades. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing a fixed income portfolio, as well as experience with financial analysis and investment research. You must be able to work independently and be able to make sound investment decisions. Responsibilities Oversee the management of multiple fixed income portfolios in multiple currencies. In depth knowledge of products including but not limited to bonds, T-bills, Derivatives, currency, cross-currency and other debt instruments. Develop and implement investment strategies in accordance with the risk tolerance and objectives of the mandate. Conduct research on potential investments and monitor existing holdings to make recommendations for buying, selling, or holding securities. Prepare reports detailing the performance of the portfolio and present findings to relevant stakeholders. Monitor economic indicators and trends to identify opportunities and threats to the portfolio’s value. Stay abreast of new products and developments in the fixed income market. Execute transactions in a timely and efficient manner. Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate records of all transactions and positions. Perform daily reviews of the portfolios to ensure it is consistent with the stated objectives and within risk limits. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related field – CFA or other professional designation is preferred. 5 years’ experience managing a fixed income portfolio. Proven track record of success in meeting or exceeding investment goals. Strong understanding of financial markets and economic trends. Extensive knowledge of different types of fixed income securities. Analytical and research skills to identify opportunities and assess risk. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
