Sovereign is a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets and has operations in five Provinces. The Commercial division of Sovereign is looking for an individual to assume the responsibilities of Services Engineer: GMR2 in Pretoria West. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Commercial Products Manager. The Services Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in Engineering and ensuring safe operation of plant and machinery at the Abattoir. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree/BTech, GCC registered and 11-15 years' experience. A minimum of 8 years' experience managing a team is essential. Promote the Occupational Health and Safety Act compliance. Ensuring that all machinery follows the occupational health and safety legislation Implement a planned maintenance program and ensure that the statutory machinery records are kept and maintained Control costs in line with the approved departmental budget. Developing maintenance team and managing talent within the department. Manage projects and contractors onsite . Drive a high food safety culture (FSSC 22000 accreditation). Strong Leadership skills Sound preventative maintenance experience. Excellent technical abilities. Good Project Management skills. High degree of computer literacy. Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
